
Hyderabad, Dec.3 (NSS): The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was launched on June 25, 2015 in 500 cities (485 cities including l5 merged cities) and towns across the country. In the State of Telangana, l2 Cities are covered under AMRUT namely, Adilabad, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahbubnagar, Miryalguda, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Ramagundam, Siddipet, Suryapet and Warangal.
As reported by the State government, under AMRUT, 66 projects were taken up which included 27 water supply projects worth Rs 1,424.09 crore, four sewerage/Septage Management projects worth Rs 203.3 crore and 35 Green Spaces & Park projects worth Rs 35.69 crore. All these projects have been completed.
Under AMRUT, 4,336.54 km length of water pipeline & 278.53 km length of Sewer pipeline has been laid, 5.54 lakh water tap connections and 0.87 lakh sewer connections have been provided under AMRUT and convergence. Further, 18.25 MLD Sewage Treatment Ptant (STP) capacity and 442.45 acres of green space area has been developed in the State of Telangana under AMRUT. An amount of Rs 1,663.08 crore was sanctioned for these projects, which includes Central Assistance (CA) of Rs 832.6 crore. The State has submitted utilization of Rs 806.21 crore against Rs 831.52 crore released under AMRUT.
