The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, condemned in the strongest terms the attacks near the House of Parliament in the British capital London on Wednesday, 22 March 2017. The attack claimed the lives of four people and injured many innocent peaceful citizens. Al-Othaimeen conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the British people and Government which treated the attack as a terrorist act; wishing the wounded speedy recovery. He also affirmed the OIC’s solidarity with Britain in these difficult and painful moments.
The Secretary General rejected categorically these terrorist acts which undermine the right to life, and reaffirmed the OIC’s principled and unwavering position which denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, in line with the basic principles of the Islamic noble religion. Meanwhile, Al-Othaimeen called on world governments, international organizations and civil society institutions throughout the world to continue to stand united and work together continuously in order to fight terrorism, a scourge that has emerged as humanity’s first enemy.
