Centre sanctions Rs 850 crore for construction of roads in Telangana

Hyderabad, March 15 (NSS): The Centre has approved Rs 850 crore for the construction of roads in Telangana under the Central Highways Infrastructure (CRIF) Fund. Funds have been sanctioned for the construction of 31 roads in respect of various districts of the State. An order to this effect was issued by Kamal Prakash, Secretary, Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

As per the proposals of BJP national general secretary and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Rs 107 crore has been released for the construction of four roads in Karimnagar parliamentary constituency. Funds have been sanctioned for the construction of roads in a total area of 57 km spread in Karimnagar, Jagtial and Siddipet districts. Of these, a single road from Ganneruvaram to Bejjanki, covering a total length of 23 km, will be expanded as a double lane road and Rs 32 crore has been released for the purpose. Similarly, Rs 25 crore has been released for the construction of a 10-km road from Antakkapeta to Kothakonda. A sum of Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a total of 11.7 km road from Malyala to Kachapalli via Nukapalli and Ramannapeta villages. Apart from this, ₹.25 crore has been released for the construction of a total of 11.5 km of road from Husnabad to Ramavaram.

On the other hand, BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed happiness that the Centre had released Rs 107 crore under CRIF for the construction of roads in Karimnagar parliamentary constituency. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He also thanked the State government and Minister of State Komatireddy Venkatreddy for their cooperation. Bandi Sanjay said the previous KCR government did not cooperate with the Centre in the development of the State and construction of roads while claiming that the proposals sent by them were ignored. “If the previous government had cooperated, more funds would have come for the construction of roads. This is a testimony to the fact that if the Central and State governments work in coordination for the development of the State, leaving aside politics, funds will be generated,” he added. (NSS)
