Hyderabad, 2nd May 2024 :The recent announcement from Hyderabad indicates that parents will have to wait yet another year for fee regulation in schools, as the State government is unlikely to introduce such regulation for the upcoming academic year. It seems that the government is aiming to implement fee regulation measures for the academic year 2025-26 instead.
According to a senior official from the education department, the focus is on drafting a robust fee regulation law rather than issuing temporary orders for fee control in schools. However, the implementation of this law is delayed due to the Lok Sabha elections’ model code of conduct, which is in effect until June 6.
With the academic year 2024-25 scheduled to commence on June 12, any regulatory changes would have to be deferred to the following academic year. Nevertheless, the official has assured that measures will be taken to regulate fees in the next academic year if not in the current one.
This news underscores the complexities and challenges associated with implementing fee regulation in schools, especially against the backdrop of electoral processes and bureaucratic procedures. While parents may be disappointed by the delay, they can take solace in the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns and ensuring fair and equitable education for all students.
