(RAHNUMA) HYDERABAD :  In a stirring appeal to the citizens of Hyderabad, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan, the grandson of His Exalted Highness Asaf Jah VII Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur, the last Nizam of Hyderabad, has called for unity in supporting the Indian National Congress Party in the upcoming 2024 national elections.

Irrespective of religious beliefs, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan emphasized the importance of voting for the Congress Party to safeguard Democracy and the Constitution. He highlighted the extensive journey of Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress Party, across India, covering regions from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and Manipur to Maharashtra. This journey, he noted, has deeply resonated with the masses and has influenced the Congress Party’s manifesto to address public concerns effectively.

“Let us support the Congress in fulfilling its promises by casting our valuable votes for the betterment and development of our country,” stated Nawab Najaf Ali Khan.

His appeal comes at a crucial juncture in Indian politics, with the 2024 elections being highly anticipated across the nation. Hyderabad, with its rich history and diverse population, holds significant importance in shaping the political landscape of the country.

Nawab Najaf Ali Khan’s call for unity and support for the Congress Party is expected to resonate with many Hyderabadis, considering his esteemed lineage and deep connection to the region’s history.

As Hyderabad prepares to exercise its democratic right in the upcoming elections, the appeal by Nawab Najaf Ali Khan serves as a reminder of the pivotal role each voter plays in shaping the future of the nation.

In 1950, Najaf Ali Khan’s grandfather Mir Osman Ali Khan signed the Instrument of Accession, and was sworn in as Raj Pramukh of Hyderabad State, pledging loyalty to the Indian Constitution.

Contrary to anti-Nizam narratives, it remains undeniable that the Asaf Jahi period oversaw Hyderabad’s and Mir Osman Ali Khan’s liberation from the Razakars by the Indian Army, Hyderabad’s subsequent accession to India, and embracing of democracy for the first time in its 400-year history.
