Hyderabad, May 27 (NSS): Former minister and director of Vijaya Dairy Yerneni Sita Devi passed away due to a heart attack in Hyderabad on Monday.
She was elected as an MLA two times from Mudinepalli Assembly constituency on behalf of Telugu Desam Party ( TDP) in 1985 and 1994. In 1988, Sita Devi served as Minister of Education in then chief minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s cabinet.
Her body was shifted to her native place of Kodur village in Kaikaluru mandal in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, many leaders irrespective of political parties have condoled the death of Sita Devi. TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences over the death of Sita Devi and prayed for her soul to rest in peace.
Chandrababu Naidu said that Sita Devi had left her mark on the education department and done many things for the development of Andhra Pradesh. (NSS)
