Hyderabad, June 23 (NSS): BRS party MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy today alleged that CM Revanth Reddy was not giving pensions to old age people of the State for the last three months.
Addressing media persons at Telangana Bhavan in the city, he referred to the legal notices sent to him by State minister Ponnam Prabhakar and said the notices were not enough to support the illegal acts of the minister. He dared the minister whether he has guts to swear by Apollo Venkateswara Swami temple at 11 am on Wednesday that he was not committing any illegal acts and took money in the flyash transportation scam. “If the minister doesn’t come to the Venkateswara Swamy temple on Wednesday, I will reveal some more facts as a witness to media at the same time,” he said.
Commenting on the participation of official programs in his constituency, he said it was not right to stop MLAs from distributing cheques in assembly constituencies where the BRS party has won. He said the MLA has full authority to disburse cheques as per GO No. (18) of 2016. He alleged that Ponnam Prabhakar was trying to bypass the demand for allotment of time by MROs to him to distribute the cheques. He questioned as to why 381 cheques received in Huzurabad were not being distributed. He warned that he would go to any extent for the people of Huzurabad and added that he would not be cowed down if the beneficiaries faced difficulties.
“If Minister Ponnam Prabhakar is angry with me, he should take it against me and not against the people,” he said. He demanded to know why the cheques were not being distributed even though the time of cheques was expiring by June 27. “From the Collector to the lower level officials, they should behave in a systematic manner or else they will have to face difficulties,” he said. He also said the officials will have to face trouble when the BRS comes to power as they
prepared a black book in respect of officers, who have violated the rules. He said the incident should be remembered when officials involved in corruption in the distribution of cheques were jailed.
“If we are not given priority in the matter of distribution of cheques, we will file a petition in the High Court by making the authorities concerned as parties,” he said. An audio clip of the minister threatening the officials over the distribution of cheques was also placed before the media by Kaushik Reddy. He said the BRS cadre was stronger than any other party in the State and added that everyone would work hard to bring the party back to power. He claimed that In the Congress and BJP-ruled regions of the country, there was no other State which is more developed than Telangana. (NSS)
