Hyderabad, June 26 (NSS): While noting that they cannot imagine Telangana without Singareni company, CPI MLA Koonamneni Sambasivarao today said the State government should stand boldly in the matter of Singareni auction, which is a major issue for Telangana State. He said they thought that their children would get jobs in the mines. He expressed concern that the situation was changing now.
He expressed concern that lakhs of workers were dependent on the Singareni for their livelihood and added that there was a risk of losing their livelihood due to privatization. He said they wanted to protect Singareni, which directly and indirectly provides employment to thousands of people. “If there is no Singareni, the coal-based industries will be severely damaged. Bandh will be organized on July 5 against Singareni auction,” he said.
He made it clear that his party would go on a hunger strike for 15 days across the State and crackdown against the Singereni auction. He called upon the State government to prepare for a struggle on behalf of the people instead of lying. (NSS)
