BRS sends complaints on defected MLAs

Hyderabad, June 26 (INN): The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has intensified efforts to disqualify its MLAs who have defected to the ruling Congress party.

In the absence of an appointment with Assembly Speaker Gadam Prasad Kumar, BRS has submitted a written complaint through email and speed post, demanding immediate disqualification of the defiant members.

Former Minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy addressed the media on Wednesday, expressing frustration over the Speaker’s unresponsiveness to their requests for a meeting. “Despite repeated attempts to schedule a meeting, our calls have gone unanswered. We had no choice but to register our complaints through email and speed post,” he stated.

Jagadish Reddy urged the Speaker to promptly disqualify the five BRS MLAs who have joined the Congress. The BRS had already filed complaints against Danam Nagender, Kadim Srihari, and T Venkat Rao. Now, additional complaints have been lodged against M Sanjay Kumar and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

A fresh petition has also been filed in the High Court, seeking a directive for the Speaker to disqualify Nagender. This petition is scheduled for hearing on Thursday, June 27. Depending on the High Court’s decision, BRS may consider approaching the Supreme Court.

Jagadish Reddy accused the defected MLAs of betraying voters and called for their immediate disqualification. He criticized Telangana’s Congress leadership for contradicting the national party’s policies against defection, exposing what he described as their double standards. (INN)
