CM Revanth pays tributes to D Srinivas

Nizamabad, June 30 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid his last respects to former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and Congress senior leader D Srinivas, who passed away due to a heart attack, in Nizamabad on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that D Srinivas, popularly known as DS, was instrumental in getting the Congress to power in 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections.

“D Srinivas began his political career as a  student leader and carved a niche for himself by ascending top level in the Congress. Even though DS stayed away from the party for a while, Sonia Gandhi used to greet the senior leader warmly in parliament,” the Chief Minister said.

“DS always said he never had hopes for positions. His wish to drape the Congress flag over him when he dies is fulfilled,” he reminded.

The Chief Minister further stated that the Congress will stand by DS family and will discuss with the family members to take up some work in memory of Srinivas.

“The passing away of senior Congress leader is a huge loss for the party,” Revanth Reddy added. (NSS)
