
Kothagudem, July 21 (NSS): Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has directed the officials concerned to submit a detailed report on the breach of Pedavagu project bund in Ashwaraopet mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Tummala Nageswara Rao on Sunday inspected the Peddavagu medium irrigation project, which suffered a major breach due to heavy rains, resulting in inundation of vast tracts of agricultural lands in Gummadivalli and Kothuru villages in the district, and expressed anger at the authorities concerned over the poor maintenance of the project.
He enquired about the inundation areas in Ashwaraopet mandal and directed the authorities to inspect the submerged houses and provide immediate assistance to the victims.
Tummala Nageswara Rao also sought the details of the status of the Peddavagu project before the rainy season and asked the officials to give a report for the reasons behind the breach of the project bund.
Meanwhile, memos were issued to four authorities who were negligence in their duties at the project site.
