
Hyderabad, July 24 (NSS): Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy expressed his condolences on the demise of former member of Telangana State Legislative Council D. Srinivas and offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
Gutta Sukender Reddy tabled a condolence resolution in the Legislative Council today. Speaking on the occasion, Sukender Reddy said in the House D. Srinivas was born on September 27, 1948 in Velpur of Nizamabad district to Venkatram and Lakshmibai. “Srinivas represented the Nizamabad assembly constituency from 1989 to 1994, from 1999 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2009 in the united Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly. He served as the first convenor of the State NSUI between 1969 and 1970.
He studied law in the evening college while working in the RBI. He also worked as a lawyer in Nizamabad. In August 2003, he was appointed as PCC president and held the post twice. He created history by being elected president. He served as the minister in former CMs Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy and Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s governments. He made his case strong during the separate Telangana State movement. He had contributed immensely to the development of his constituency,” he said. He also said in 2011-2015, he was elected unopposed as the MLC on behalf of the Congress Party by the members of the Legislative Assembly and also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the House.
The Members of the Legislative Council observed silence for two minutes in the House for the peace to the soul of D. Srinivas.
