Hyderabad, July 27 (NSS): GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata has directed officials in all circles to work in coordination to make it a GVP (Garbage Vulnerable Points) free city. She congratulated the sanitation officials, who have completely removed the garbage points in Qutbullapur circle limits. She said steps should be taken to ensure that the measures taken in Qutbullapur circle were implemented in all other circles of the corporation.
Commissioner Amrapali Kata directed the officials to implement the measures taken in Qutbullapur circle in their respective circles as there is a possibility of removing the GVPs and making them GVP-free circles. “Improving the functioning of Swachh Autos and operating Swachh Autos for 100 per cent door-to-door garbage collection with QR code, identifying families who have not littered in their neighbourhood, creating awareness among them and collecting full-fledged house-to-house garbage with the help of SHGs, Resident Welfare Association and local representatives (corporators) for re-dumping garbage to Swachh Autos, sanitation carriers and staff attendance should be taken up,” she said.
She said free medical camps had been conducted to make sanitation workers healthy and added that due to solving their health issues, the attendance percentage of the workers had improved leading to the achievement of desired level. She said Deputy Commissioner (SWM) Mohan Reddy and Assistant Medical Officer Bhargav had set an example for the circle with a special initiative.
Mohan Reddy and Bhargav explained that with the joint responsibility and cooperation of sanitation workers, staff, representatives of UBD, UCD, R.W.A, and local public representatives, Quthbullapur circle had become an example of GVP free circle . The commissioner congratulated the Circle Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Medical Officer, UBD, UCD, sanitation staff, workers, residential welfare representatives and all those who worked hard to set an example under the joint leadership of the residents of the circle who worked to remove the garbage vulnerable point.
