
Hyderabad, July 31 (NSS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jishnu Dev Varma was sworn in as the Governor of Telangana State on Wednesday.
Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Alok Aradhe admistered the oath of office to Jishnu Dev Varma as the Governor at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Telangana Ministers, MLAs, MLCs and senior officials attended the swearing-in-ceremony.
Jishnu Dev Varma, who served as Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura State from 2018 to 2023, was appointed the new Governor of Telangana on July 27, replacing CP Radhakrishnan, who has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra State.
Jishnu Dev Varma joined the BJP in 1993 and played a key role in the party since then.
