KTR asks govt to stop Amararaja from leaving Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug.11 (NSS)BRS party working president KT Rama Rao while noting that  he has been seeing reports that Amara Raja’s organisation is saying that it will leave the Sate if the Telangana government does not abide by the promises made to it, he said it would be very unfortunate if the news reports were true.

He claimed that after the formation of the Congress government, many organisations were leaving the State without understanding the attitude of the government. “A company called Cannes Technology has moved from Telangana to Gujarat and Corning has shifted its plant to Chennai. Now Amararaja is also saying that it will leave,” he said and warned that this would cause serious damage to the Telangana brand.

He suggested to the government that mortgaging the interests of the State for political gains was not good at all and added that the policies of the government should continue to be in line with attracting investments. “We have worked very hard to convince them to invest Rs 9,500 crore in Telangana. I hope the Congress government will continue with the promises made to investors by the BRS government to bring investments to the State.

In fact, the State of Telangana has the highest per capita income in the country with the highest revenue surplus State. But it is sad that the Chief Minister himself is propagating that the State is in debt and bankrupt,” he said. He appealed to the CM not to make such statements which are seriously detrimental to the interests of the State. He said the government should wake up and take steps to ensure that Amararaja’s organisation did  not move to other places at least now. “They should continue with the promises made to them by the previous government. Otherwise, more companies will have to leave the State,” KTR warned.
