Wreath laying ceremony held at Veerula Sainik Smarak, Secunderabad

Hyderabad, Aug.15 (NSS): Independence Day is celebrated on August 15 of every year. On this day, India got its freedom from British rule. It was a hard and long non-violent struggle, in which many freedom fighters & great men sacrificed their lives for the independence of our beloved motherland.

As a part of nationwide celebrations, a Wreath Laying ceremony was organised at Veerula Sainik Smarak, Army Parade Ground Secunderabad. The occasion was a spectacular event, with the presence of a Military Band and all the Officers and Soldiers attired in full ceremonial dress adorning glittering medals depicting their various achievements in the service of the nation while paying due homage to the martyrs, their brethren in uniform who laid their life for the independence of India.

The sequence of events started with a lot of fanfare and the laying of a Wreath by the junior most soldier followed by various other Senior Officers of the station. Finally, the wreath was laid by the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who was the chief guest for the occasion.
