
Hyderabad, Aug.19 (NSS): The Center for Urdu Culture Studies (CUCS) at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, commenced its One Week Workshop on Research Methodology in Languages today. The workshop, scheduled from August 19 to 24 was inaugurated by Prof. Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Ainul Hasan emphasized the importance of robust research methodologies in advancing linguistic studies. He said that such workshops cater the needs of research scholars, particularly in the field of languages. Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar was the chief guest. He emphasized the critical role of research methodologies in fostering academic excellence and encouraged the participants to actively engage in the sessions. He also underscored the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into research practices, highlighting how AI can revolutionize data analysis, enhance accuracy, and open new avenues for interdisciplinary research. Prof. Aziz Bano and Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood were also present.
Prof. M. A. Sami Siddiqui, Director, CUCS delivered a lecture “Rethinking Research in Language & Literature,” providing a fresh perspective on contemporary research approaches after the inaugural session. Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees, Former Dean, SLL&I, MANUU, conducted a session “Textual Editing,” focusing on the nuances of textual analysis and editing in linguistic research. Dr. Md. Sabir Ali, Assistant Professor, CUCS contributed a session on “Research Methodology: Definition and Data Collection,” providing participants with a solid foundation in the basic principles and practices of research.
The workshop will conclude with group activities and the distribution of certificates to the participants.
