Hyderabad, Aug.22 (NSS): International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Director General Dr. Jacqueline Hughes called on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat here on Thursday.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister suggested that the ICRISAT should conduct research on new crop varieties that can yield high productivity for various crops.
He emphasized that the research should contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Telangana.
On the occasion, Dr. Hughes requested the Chief Minister to visit ICRISAT, to which he has agreed to visit.
The meeting was a courtesy call by Dr. Hughes to discuss potential collaborations between ICRISAT and the Telangana government in the field of agriculture.
Similarly, UNICEF Field Office Chief Dr.Zelalem B. Taffesse paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also unveiled a logo of Sports Authority of Telangana at the Secretariat. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Government Advisor Jithender Reddy, Commission Chairman Shivsena Reddy and others were present.
