Extend support for Telangana tourism development: Jupally urges Centre

Hyderabad, Aug.24 (NSS): Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao has urged the Union government to extend its support for the development of tourism in Telangana.

Jupally Krishna Rao called on Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on Saturday and requested him to release funds for the various tourism projects proposed by the Telangana government.

 Jupally stated that Telangana has plenty of destinations for the tourism development and what is needed is to fund them and develop those areas. On the occasion, the Union Minister has responded positively and assured all the support for the proposals made by the Telangana government.

Later, speaking to the media, Jupally Krishna Rao said that the State government is exploring all ways to develop the tourism sector as the Telangana is suitable for eco, water body, temple, and health tourism.

He reminded that the State government has allocated adequate funds in its annual budget for the tourism sector and the cooperation of the union government is also necessary to take up various projects in Telangana.

Jupally Krishna Rao also informed that the State government would bring a new tourism policy aimed at making Telangana number one in the country in the days to come.
