We demolished N-convention centre as per law: Hydra Commissioner

Hyderabad, Aug.24 (NSS): Hydra has reacted to the demolition of the N Convention centre owned by actor Nagarjuna in Madhapur. Hydra Commissioner AV Ranganath today said the structures in the N Convention were demolished as per the law. He made it clear that there was no stay order of court on the N- Convention centre Lands.

“It is completely untrue that the High Court has given a stay order. The demolition was done because there were structures in the FTL. The tank has been completely encroached upon to construct the N-convention centre,” he said. He revealed that Hydra acted as per the law and demolished the structures.

“The N Convention management has tried to regularise the structures. The N Convention management’s request to regularise their lands was rejected by the authorities in the past,” he said. He revealed that there were already High Court judgments on the N-Convention centre along with the Lokayukta judgments. He said in the N-Convention centre, all the structures had been completely demolished by them. Ranganath clarified that the N-Convention centre had now become an open area after their demolition.

In a statement, Hydra said the officials of GHMC, Town Planning, Irrigation and Revenue departments had removed the encroachments in Thammidikunta Cheruvu, Khanamet village and NTL in Madhapur. It also said in 2014, HMDA had issued a preliminary notification regarding the FTL and buffer zones of Tammidikunta Lake and added that the final notification was issued in 2016. “After the preliminary notification was issued in 2014, the N-convention management approached the High Court, which directed to follow the statutory process with regard to the determination of FTL area. Accordingly, the FTL survey was conducted in the presence of petitioner N Convention management. The case against the N-Convention has been pending since 2017,” he said.

It alleged that the N-Convention management was clearly manipulating the systems & processes through unauthorized structures constructed in the buffer zones and was continuing its commercial operations. Hydra clarified that no building permission had been given by GHMC  to the N-Convention centre so far. “N Convention management had tried to regularise the unauthorised constructions under the Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS). But , its application had been rejected by the authorities concerned,” the Hydra said.
