RIYADH, 25 August: Saudi land patrols in the Jazan Region have arrested five Ethiopian nationals attempting to smuggle 195 kilograms of the narcotic qat, state news agency SPA reported.
Legal procedures have been initiated, and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority.
In Riyadh, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has arrested a citizen for attempting to sell 59 kilograms of hashish.
The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution, according to SPA.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia urge the public to report any information related to drug smuggling or selling by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, or 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
