Ponds should be prepared for Ganesh immersion: GHMC Mayor inspects Safilguda tank

Hyderabad, Sept.3 (NSS): GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has instructed the officials concerned to prepare Safilguda tank with all necessary facilities for the upcoming Ganesh immersion program .

She inspected the Safilguda Baby Pond in Secunderabad zone. Sanitation status and condition of roads were checked by her during the inspection. On this occasion, she gave several instructions to the concerned officials on the arrangements for Ganesha immersion. “On the occasion of Ganesh festivals from September 7 to 17, necessary arrangements should be made at Safilguda tank for Ganesh immersion. Cleanliness should be maintained smoothly and no complaints should be received,” she said. Sanitation officials have been instructed to continuously monitor the maintenance of sanitation within the field limits. Police department officials have been instructed to set up lighting, police bandobast and make security arrangements at night to prevent any untoward incident at dark spots.

She instructed the officials concerned to take steps to ensure that the roads where the rally will continue during Vinayaka immersion are good and added that there should be no potholes on the roads immediately. She also instructed the concerned officials to cut the branches of the tree, make the boat available at the pond and take steps to ensure that the street lights glow. She asked the officials to provide drinking water and other basic amenities to the devotees. She suggested that a large number of mobile toilets should be set up and a control room should be set up in the respective circles to work 24 hours a day during the immersion.

On this occasion, the officials of the respective departments briefed the Mayor about the works completed so far.

Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi, Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran, Deputy Commissioner Raju, officers of police, sanitation, lakes, entomology, medical, health, engineering and other departments, corporator Shravan, Ganesh Utsava committee members and others participated in the inspection.
