
Hyderabad, Sept.6 (NSS): Noted film lyricist Vaddepalli Krishna passed away today. He breathed his last on Friday morning while undergoing treatment in the NIMS Hospital.
Two days ago, his Telugu Film Writers Association honoured him with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Vaddepalli Krishna was born in a weavers’ family in Sircilla. Settled in Hyderabad’s Nagole, he was employed as a postman. In the film ‘Pilla Zamindar movie, he wrote the famous song Nee Chupulona Virajaji Vaana’ and in ‘Bhairava Dweepam movie he wrote the famous Amba Shambhavi song. Vaddepalli played a key role in the Telangana movement.
He has done two films as a director. Saikumar played the lead role in the film ‘Ekkadiki Velutundo Manasu ‘ directed by him. He himself acted in the film. He directed and produced the short film Gobhagyam which won many awards internationally. Writer Vaddepalli Krishna is the person, who liked noted poet C. Narayana Reddy. He received Nandi Awards for many short films like Bathukamma and Ramappa Ramaniyam. He examined 10,000 fine songs and completed his PhD. Out of the hundreds of songs written by him, all were broadcast on All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has written more than 40 dance forms. Many books have been published by him. Film personalities paid tributes to Vaddepalli Krishna on his death on social media platforms.
