Police completed arrangements for peaceful immersion of Ganesh Idols

Hyderabad, Sept.13 (NSS): The Ganesh festival is coming to an end soon as several Ganesh idols have already been immersed. A large number of the Ganesh idols along with Khairatabad Mahaganapati will be immersed on 17th of this month. The Police department has completed all arrangements for peaceful immersion program.

Hyderabad CP CV Anand spoke on the arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh immersion. Around 25,000 people have been deployed for Ganesh idols immersion, he said. “Ganesh immersion will be done in coordination with all departments. Additional security arrangements have been made in the troubled areas,” he said.

The CP said Khairatabad Ganesh Idol immersion would be completed by 1.30 pm. “This year, an additional 10 per cent of Ganesh idols have been installed. All kinds of idols together can be around one lakh. The idol immersions are going on in Hussain Sagar for the last four days. Thousands of Vinayaka idols will be immersed on the 17th of this month,” said C V Anand.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad City Police on Friday announced key rules in the wake of Ganesh immersion procession. The rules to be followed on the day of immersion have been revealed. The Members of the Ganesh Utsav Committee suggested that the vehicles required to carry the idols should be arranged in advance. Those carrying idols from south zone limits on the day of the immersion should leave in advance and display the number assigned to the vehicle by the ACP. The Hyderabad City Police has made a major announcement in this regard on the X platform.

According to the rules, only one vehicle is allowed per Ganesh idol and a loudspeaker should not be placed on the vehicle carrying the idol. A musical system with DJ is not allowed on vehicles on the day of the immersion. Confetti guns should not be used to spray colours. Persons, who have consumed alcohol or any other intoxicants, will not be allowed in the vehicle carrying the idol. The participants should not affect traffic while passing the vehicle on the road. The vehicle carrying the idol should not be stopped near or on the way to any place of worship that may interfere with other vehicles and traffic.

The movement of vehicles depends on the instructions given by the police officers depending on the prevailing circumstances. No one should carry sticks/knives, firearms, inflammable materials or other weapons in the procession. The sticks used for flags or decorations should not be more than 2 feet long. Vermilion, kumkum or gulal should not be thrown on passersby. No political speeches, provocative speeches, slogans or provocative signs or banners should be used in the procession. No other provocative acts shall be committed to hurt the sentiments of any section of the people. Fireworks should not be used during the procession.
