Harish condemns CM Revanth’s remarks on State’s debts

Hyderabad, Sept.17 (NSS): Former minister T. Harish Rao today alleged that the Congress government was formed on the foundations of lies. He expressed his displeasure over CM Revanth’s remarks that the State was in debts. “It is a matter of shame that the same lies are being repeated before the 16th Finance Commission. It is a misadventure to tarnish the image and leverage of the State,” he criticised.

Speaking to mediapersons in Medak on Tuesday, he said the Chief Minister himself had repeatedly said the State had gone bankrupt and was reeling under financial problems. He said the CM was putting a question mark on the future of the State. “I strongly condemn this attitude. How many more times and for how many more days will Revanth Reddy spread the false propaganda that he has a debt of Rs 6.85 lakh crore,” he asked.

He wondered as to what was the benefit of the State being made before the 16th Finance Commission and even on the occasion of Public Administration Day,” he asked.  “In the last assembly session itself, I had exposed the facts by countering CM’s false propaganda on the State’s debts. During the nine-and-a-half years of BRS rule, net debt for development, capital investment and welfare was only Rs 4,26,499 crore,” he said.

He asked as to how many assets had been created by converting the debts into capital? He said the Telangana State had topped the per capita income in the country? “Why don’t you say that Telangana is the only State that has provided drinking water to every household through Mission Bhagiratha? Why don’t you say that Telangana tops the country in terms of per capita electricity consumption? Why don’t you say that we have converted debts into capital and created an asset for Telangana,” he questioned.

Rao claimed that many companies had already moved to other States with CM’s irresponsible comments on the State’s economy. He alleged that Real estate had collapsed due to CM’s  unthinking actions.
