Public Administration Day celebrated at GHMC

Hyderabad, Sept.17 (NSS)GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi along with Commissioner Amrapali Kata today unfurled the national flag and received a salute at the GHMC headquarters on the occasion of Public Administration Day.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said September 17 was the day when the struggle of the Telangana nation, which has been waiting for freedom even after a year of India’s independence, was liberated from Nizam’s  rule. Stating that Telangana has become a role model in the country in self-governance of the people, she said the State had become a role model in the country in the wake of the implementation of development and welfare schemes and added that plans to facilitate economic development and bringing the government schemes closer to the people were being implemented by them.

She said people had been given an opportunity to apply for the implementation of six guarantees in the public administration programme and added that those applications had been examined and eligible families had been given the eligibility to avail the benefit of the government. “In particular, LPG cooking gas at Rs 500 has been provided free of cost to the poor people. With the intention of  providing electricity bills to the poor people and providing free transport bus facility to women across the State, we have also implemented many schemes. Revanth Reddy is the only chief minister who stood as an elder brother to women and the student world,” the Mayor said.

She said Praja Palana program was implemented across the State from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024 and added that four counters were set up in One ward in which special counters for women and the disabled were set up and applications were received for implementation of schemes that would benefit the people in GHMC.

“600 counters have been set up in 150 wards and volunteers have been deployed along with 10,000 staff,” she said while adding that every application received at the counter has been taken up and computerised circle-wise. She said 24,74,325 applications had been received from 26,48,521 families in public administration, out of which 19,01,256 applications had been received and added that seva kendras had  been set up in the ward offices in 30 circles for correction of the applications.

The Mayor said steps were being taken to ensure that the elected government of the people was resolved with the responsibility of the authorities by conducting praja vani in GHMC every Monday also except for public holiday in every district for public administration and urged the people’s cooperation to the people’s government to be there forever.
