
Hyderabad, Sept.17 (NSS): People are forgetting the old saying that greed results in grief (duraasha dhukkaniki chetu) and that is the reason for many people becoming victims of cybercrimes now a days, says an elderly person. There is some truth in this observation, if we take into consideration the way unscrupulous elements are cheating the innocent people.
Inspire of repeated warnings from the different authorities like RBI, banks, police, recruitment agencies, etc., people are falling into the trap of the criminals and losing their hard earned money. The cyber crimes are increasing day by day.
Official figures show that cyber criminals are looting more than Rs three crore every day in Telangana state. Employees, housewives and unemployed people are becoming victims of investment frauds, part time job offers, easy loans, friendship and other types of scams. During the period from May 2023 to April 2024, cyber crime victims have lost Rs.1,085 crore in the State.
Police authorities are advising the people to be aware about the cyber crimes and refrain from responding to offers of higher returns on investment, jobs in India and foreign countries and other types of cybercrimes.
