
Hyderabad, Sept.17 (NSS): Haryana State Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue in front of the Assembly.
Speaking on the occasion, he expressed happiness that celebrating 76 years of Liberation Day was a matter of pride. He said although India got independence on August 15, 1947, some areas of Telangana, Marathwada and Karnataka, which were part of Hyderabad, breathed free air on September 17, 1948. Dattatreya stated that the people faced severe difficulties in the liberation movement of Hyderabad and added that the movement made by the people for liberation was historic. He said today’s generation needs to know about the painful conditions faced in the liberation movement and added that it was time to remember the sacrifices made by the leaders of those days. He called upon the people to remember the warriors who fought for liberation.
