
Hyderabad, Sept.24 (NSS): GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata today directed officials to take steps to ensure smooth conduct of sanitation activities in view of the possibility of spread of communicable diseases in the wake of rains in the city for the last three days.
On Tuesday, Amrapali Kata made a surprise visit to several areas of LB Nagar zone and inspected the maintenance of sanitation, potholes on the roads and their condition. She toured from Saroornagar to Uppal Bhagavath, Uppal Stadium Road via LB Nagar and Nagole Road and gave various instructions to the authorities concerned on the steps to be taken on road repairs and sanitisation.
On the occasion, the Commissioner asked officials to take steps for keeping the Saroornagar, Uppal and Ramanthapur tanks and its surroundings clean. “In the wake of the rains, all the officials should remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to avoid any inconvenience to the people,” she said. She also directed that sanitation should be maintained properly to prevent the spread of infections and anti-larval operations, fogging, and so on should be carried out to control mosquitoes. She also asked officials to bury potholes on the roads.
LB Nagar Zonal Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Deputy Commissioners, Engineering Officers and others were present on the occasion.
