BRS cadres stage dharna demanding Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver

Hyderabad, Sept.27 (NSS)BRS party cadres today staged a dharna at Nangunur mandal headquarters. The programme was held demanding a crop loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh and immediate fulfilment of promises made by the Congress government to the farmers. Former minister Harish Rao participated in the dharna. Speaking on the occasion, he said he would not sleep till the loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh was done for the farmers and added that he would also  not let Revanth Reddy to sleep.

The former minister criticized that while Rythu Bandhu was provided to the farmers during KCR’s tenure, this government did not give it even though the crop was harvested. He said the Congress government used to give electricity at night and added that the 24-hour power supply came when KCR was the CM. He asked as to why the power was not coming now in the Congress party’s rule. He said KCR had given the Rythu Bandhu benefit for 11 times on time to the farmers and added that they paid the paddy procurement price within three days of purchasing it from the farmers.

Harish Rao alleged that KCR had increased the value of farmers and farmers’ land, but after the Congress came to power, the value of the farmer had come down and the value of the land had also come down. Referring to the statement of CM Revanth Reddy that Kaleswaram project collapsed, Rao asked the CM to come and see Ranganayaka Sagar, Mallanna Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar projects.    “When KCR came and built Kaleswaram, the farmers were growing two crops,” he claimed.
