
Hyderabad, Oct.13 (NSS): BRS working president KT Rama Rao expressed shock over the death of two persons in Sangareddy district after allegedly consuming contaminated drinking water. He criticised the ruling Congress government for its incompetence in providing safe drinking water. He said the KCR government had completed the Mission Bhagiratha project like no other State in the country to supply the safe drinking water across Telangana. He alleged that the Revanth government was not able to properly manage the Mission Bhageeratha project which will purify the waters of Krishna and Godavari rivers and provide safe drinking water to the entire State.
KTR said the deaths due to the supply of contaminated water in Sanjeeva Raopet were a failure of the Congress government. He demanded that the families of the deceased be helped and adequate assistance should be provided to those undergoing treatment. We have to ensure that such unfortunate incidents do not happen anywhere else in Telangana, KTR said.
According to sources, the Mission Bhagiratha water has not been available for the past few days in the BC colony of Sanjeevaraopeta village of Narayankhed mandal in Sangareddy district. The residents of the colony drank the available water as there was no fresh water. Many in the colony fell ill due to the drinking of the contaminated water. They were rushed to a local hospital. Two people died while undergoing treatment. Another 50 people are undergoing treatment for serious illness. The condition of three of them is said to be critical. Two of them were rushed to the Narayankhed government hospital. One of them was rushed to Sangareddy Hospital.
