Hyderabad, Oct.13 (NSS): State Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhara Babu today made it clear that all the appointments in Telangana state legislative council including the appointment of the chief whip of Legislative Council were made as per the constitution of India. He made these remarks while responding to the allegations made by the opposition party MLA Harish Rao that the BRS party MLC P. Mahender Reddy was illegally appointed as the chief whip of the state.
Speaking to media persons, sridhar babu said that it was not proper for Harish rao to politicize every issue. He said there were no violations anywhere. “Everyone knows what happened when Harish Rao was the Legislative Affairs Minister during KCR’s regime. Did they not remember the Constitution then,” He asked. He criticized that 12 MLAs belonging to the Congress party were included in the then ruling BRS party one by one. He said that only after considering all aspects, the chairman of the council would take decisions. According to tradition, the post of PAC chairman was given to a member of the opposition, the minister said. He said that the issue of disqualification petitions was within the purview of the court.
It may be noted here that Harish Rao raised the issue of the appointment of BRS party MLC P. Mahender Reddy as the chief whip of the state government and termed it unconstitutional. He warned the state government that they would approach the high court in the issue.
