Kishan Reddy says stones & opens development works in city

Hyderabad, Oct.26 (NSS): Union Minister Kishan Reddy today laid foundation stones and inaugurated various development works in Adikmet and Musheerabad divisions of Musheerabad assembly constituency. He inaugurated several development programmes at Adikmet Division, Lalitha Nagar Gravyard and later inaugurated the second floor of the Padmashali Sangam Community Hall. He laid the foundation stone for the CC Road in the almond tree gully. Later, he inaugurated an open gym and stage sitting galleries were opened in the municipal ward office and valley ball ground.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, he said in Musheerabad constituency, he started the development works with the help of local MLA Mutha Gopal  and corporator Supriya at a cost of around Rs 1.35 crore. He said Hyderabad city was developing at fast pace and added that it was one of the fastest growing cities in the world. “Hyderabad is making rapid strides in the areas of industry, IT, pharma, defence, health sector and education.

Unfortunately, for the past few days, the contractors have no bills and the workers working in Hyderabad’s civic works have been struggling to get their salaries. The contractors are not coming forward if tenders are called for the sanctioned works. People are facing a lot of difficulties as the drainage water is entering the houses in case of light rain. The drainage system in Hyderabad city is in shambles,” he alleged.

He said there was open drainage in many bastis and colonies around Hyderabad and added that no underground drainage works had been done so far. He also said if the government does not respond and take immediate action, the drainage system was likely to come to a standstill in the coming days.

Stating that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been repeatedly saying that the Musi river will be beautified at a cost of Rs 150,000 crore, Reddy said Hyderabad needs Musi river beautification, but the houses of the poor should not be removed while stating that the drainage problem in the bastis should be solved. He requested Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to convene a high-level meeting in the case of Hyderabad city and sanction the required funds to save the city.
