Hyderabad, Oct.28 (NSS): Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has expressed strong support for the growth of Telugu cinema and the need for more films rooted in folk traditions.
The Minister launched the teaser of Brahmanda, a film by Mamata Arts Production featuring Bunny Raju as the lead, which delves into the lives of Oggu folk artists, at his residence here on Monday.
On the occasion, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy emphasised the cultural value of films that highlight rural and spiritual lives, noting that very few movies focus on Telangana’s unique cultural heritage and folklore.
“There is a need for more movies that represent Telangana’s rich folklore and traditional arts,” he said, praising Brahmanda for choosing Oggu folk artists as its central theme.
The Minister also highlighted the popularity of Oggu art, which continues to captivate rural communities even today.
He extended his best wishes for the film’s success, saying, “In a time when traditional art forms are at risk of fading away, a movie like Brahmanda stands as a remarkable contribution. I wholeheartedly wish for the film’s success and hope it brings these rural art forms to the attention of the younger generation,”.
The event was also attended by producer Dasari Suresh, director Rambabu, lead actor Bunny Raju, and other cast members.
