Hyderabad, Oct.28 (NSS): A food poisoning incident has created panic in the city. A woman died after consuming street food. Many people also fell seriously ill after eating the street food. All of them are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. However, residents of the city are in a state of shock after the woman died due to consumption of the junk food on the street.
The tragedy took place at Nandinagar area in Banjara Hills in the city. A 29-year-old woman died after consuming the street food. She has been identified as Reshma. She was rushed to NIMS hospital by her family members. However, her condition became critical and she succumbed to her illness while undergoing treatment. Reshma has three children.
A weekly market has been set up in Nandinagar this week. A stall owner sold Momos in the market and several people bought and ate them. After consuming the momos and going home, all of them suddenly fell seriously ill with vomiting and diarrhoea. The family members immediately rushed those who fell ill to local hospitals. On the other hand, several people approached the police over the incident. They lodged a complaint at Banjara hills police station and demanded action against those responsible for the incident.
The police registered cases on the complaints made by the victims and launched an investigation. The Police are investigating whether any substandard substances were used in the preparation of the momos.
