Hyderabad, Oct.28 (NSS): South Central Railway (SCR) is observing “Vigilance Awareness Week – 2024” from October 28 to November 3 with the theme – “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”. To commemorate the vigilance awareness week, an inaugural function was held today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Gajanan Mallya, former GM of SCR was the chief guest. SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain, SCR Additional General Manager Neeraj Agrawal, SCR and J. Vinayan, Sr. Deputy General Manager, SCR were guests of honour. Principal Heads of the Departments, senior officers and staff were present.
The function started with the General Manager, SCR administering the Integrity pledge to the officers and staff. On the occasion, the Chief Guest Gajanan Mallya along with General Manager and Additional General Manager, SCR released the 57th edition of Vigilance Bulletin “ANIMISHA”. The bulletin is also available on the official website of South Central Railway.
Earlier, J Vinayan, Sr. Deputy General Manager presented the welcome address. He detailed the activities being undertaken by the Vigilance Branch of SCR to observing the Vigilance Awareness Week under the guidance of CVC/Railway Board. He stated that preventive Vigilance activities have been taken up as Focus Areas by the SCR Vigilance for three months campaign till November 15, 2024. Seminars/Workshops by SCR vigilance team and Field Unit officials are carried out over the entire Zone covering Capacity Building Programs (on the aspects of Ethics & Governance, Systems & Procedures of the Organization, Cyber Hygiene & security, Works & Service Contracts, Railway Service Conduct Rules and Procurement of Goods & Services Procurement etc for various Railway officials to ensure necessary competency and skill for imparting further in-house training. As a Preventive Vigilance measures, Leveraging of IT for complaint disposal, Updation of Circulars/Guidelines/Manuals and Disposal of complaints received before June 30, 2024 have also been emphasized during Vigilance Awareness Programmes.
The function concluded with a skit played by in-house artists highlighting the ill effects of corruption and spreading the underlining message of Vigilance Awareness Week. As a part of outreach activities, Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Divisions, Railway Schools and Colleges participated in Elocution, English/Hindi Essay writing and Poster Painting competitions on theme given by CVC. Prizes were distributed to the winners during the function.
