Hyderabad, Oct.28 (NSS): Congress MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy has leveled serious accusations against BRS working president KT Rama Rao, stating that the BRS leader is concealing the facts with regard to the police raids at Janwada farm house on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media at the Congress Legislative Party ( CLP) media conference hall here on Monday, Yennam Srinivas Reddy defended the raids at the farmhouse of Raj Pakala, a relative of KT Rama Rao and alleged that KT Rama Rao was trying to divert the issue with baseless allegations.
“The permits are required for hosting house parties that serve alcohol beyond permitted limits. KTR knows all these things, but he is trying to blame the government,” he pointed out.
Continuing his critique, the Congress MLA scrutinized the legality of Raj Pakala’s properties, specifically questioning how a residence was built under the now-repealed GO 111 without required permissions.
He argued that liquor bottles discovered at the residence raised questions about potential illegal sourcing.
The Congress MLA explained that excise officials, under the NDPS Act, are empowered to control narcotics, making Pakala’s association with illegal substances a serious issue.
On the legal front, Yennam Srinivas Reddy cited Pakala’s petition in court seeking protection from preventive arrest, suggesting it indicated guilt.
“Raj Pakala’s drug involvement suspicions persist among the public,” he emphasized, while alleging a cover-up from the ruling party. He also mentioned that Vijay Madduri, a friend of KTR’s, allegedly received drugs from Pakala.
“If KTR’s brother-in-law is involved in such controversies, his political career might be jeopardized. These aren’t political bombs; they are issues like Kaleshwaram, electricity, and Bhoodan land scams,” he added.
