Hyderabad, Oct.29 (NSS): Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav has urged the police to conduct drug tests on all Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLAs, emphasising that every time drug issues come to light, certain MLAs respond with dismissive statements.
“If BRS MLAs have any sense of shame, they should voluntarily undergo drug testing,” he stated.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, the Congress MP criticised BRS working president KT Rama Rao for shielding individuals like Raj Pakala and Vijay Madduri, who were booked cases for allegedly possessing foreign liquor than permisable limits.
The MP went on to allege that Vijay Madduri, whom he referred to as KTR’s “benami” (proxy), had admitted before the police that he had both used drugs and obtained them from Raj Pakala.
According to Anil Kumar Yadav, Madduri’s statements to the police have since changed, and he accused KCR’s family of interfering in these investigations. The Congress MP also mentioned the controversial Janwada farmhouse, questioning the events held there under the guise of Diwali festivities and housewarming functions.
He further condemned the past government’s handling of the drug issue, alleging that drugs had spread widely, even reaching school children. “The previous government allowed drugs to infiltrate the State, and now they seem to be actively promoting this menace,” Anil added.
