
Hyderabad, Nov.4 (NSS): Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday termed the arrest of former Sarpanches, who were agitating for pending bills as a heinous act.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the Congress party, which had promised to pay all the pending bills after coming into power, had gone back on its promise. Stating that it will be unwise to try to suppress the agitations with the police force without resolving the issue, he demanded immediate release of the arrested sarpanches.
Meanwhile, the former sarpanches have launched an agitation against the State government. They gave a call for ‘Chalo Hyderabad’. They also announced that they would march to CM Revanth Reddy’s house and submit a memorandum on their pending issues. In this context, the police made arrests of the former sarpanches across the State. Former sarpanches, who had gathered at a hotel in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills were taken into custody.
They shouted slogans against the government on the road. Sarpanches Association State president Survi Yadaiah Goud, State vice-presidents Gundi Madhusudhan Reddy, Repaka Nagayya, Guraladandi Anjaneyulu, Dumba Anjaneyulu and several former sarpanches were arrested and taken to various police stations.
