Sravan urges Rahul to visit Ashok Nagar to hear voices of Telangana youth

Hyderabad, Nov.4 (NSS)Dr Sravan Dasoju, senior leader of BRS, has issued an open appeal to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, urging him to visit Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad, to address the distress and disillusionment faced by Telangana’s youth. The appeal calls on Gandhi to stand by the promises made during the 2023 elections and to witness the current hardships faced by Group-1 exam aspirants and other unemployed youth affected by the government’s recent actions.

Reflecting on Gandhi’s 2023 visit to Ashok Nagar, Dr Sravan highlighted the deep disappointment of Telangana’s youth, who had believed in Gandhi’s promises of justice, empathy, and employment opportunities. These young people campaigned vigorously for Congress, placing their trust in a future shaped by transparent governance and a clear Job Calendar. However, today they feel betrayed as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has fostered a regime marked by “constitutional violations, authoritarianism, and brutal police suppression.”

Dr Sravan expressed grave concern over the plight of Group-1 aspirants, who have been subjected to repeated irregularities and forced to seek justice in courts. “Why should these young people and their families have to endure such financial and emotional pain? Why can’t Revanth Reddy’s government respond with empathy and accountability?” questioned Dr Sravan, pointing to the disheartening reality faced by countless young aspirants due to issues surrounding GO 29.

Dr Sravan also condemned the government’s negligence towards the victims of GO 46. Before the elections, Revanth Reddy had promised to abolish GO 46 and re-conduct the State Special Police Exam. However, over a lakh young people are now suffering, forced to fight for justice in the courts, with many of them from downtrodden and marginalized backgrounds.

Dr Sravan lamented the repressive tactics of the current regime, noting that peaceful protests have been met with police crackdowns, intimidation, and false cases. “The youth who supported Congress wholeheartedly now regret their decision as they face a governance style that resembles monarchy more than democracy,” he stated. Many young people, active on social media, have faced harassment, intimidation, and the suppression of their right to freedom of expression.

The appeal also criticized Revanth Reddy’s attempts to take credit for job notifications issued under the previous administration, as well as his misguided priorities that have driven Telangana into an economic downturn. Dr Sravan pointed out the lack of investment, empty slogans, and grandiose projects like the Fourth City along the Musi River, which have done little to improve the State’s fiscal health.

HYDRAA & Musi Projects: Destruction

Dr Sravan voiced his concern over the government’s actions under the HYDRAA and Musi Projects, describing them as a “Bulldozer Raj” where homes and livelihoods are being destroyed without proper implementation of the 2013 Land Acquisition, Fair Compensation, and Resettlement and Rehabilitation Act.

In his appeal, Dr Sravan emphasized the lack of social justice in government appointments and the need for Rahul Gandhi to address these issues. He urged Gandhi to visit Ashok Nagar to hear the voices of Telangana’s youth, who feel betrayed by the unfulfilled promises of the Congress-led administration.

Concluding his appeal, Dr Sravan called on Rahul Gandhi to either “mend or end this feudal, corrupt, and dictatorial governance of Revanth Reddy.” He stressed that the Congress Party’s future in Telangana depends on delivering a governance rooted in democratic values, compassion, and integrity. “We eagerly await your visit, Rahul Gandhi Ji, and look forward to witnessing strong, affirmative action that restores hope and justice to the youth of Telangana,” stated Dr Sravan Dasoju.
