
Hyderabad, Nov.9 (NSS): Leading figures from political and social organisations gathered today at Hyderabad’s Iqbal Minar to pay rich tributes to the celebrated poet and philosopher Sir Muhammad Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal, on his 147th birth anniversary.
Born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot, Punjab (then part of India, now in Pakistan), Iqbal is remembered for his immense contributions to poetry, philosophy, and the intellectual awakening of South Asia. His legacy continues to inspire people across generations and regions, from India to Pakistan and beyond.
The significance of Iqbal’s contributions to literature, philosophy, and the spirit of unity was highlighted by TPCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, Tahreek Muslim Shabban president Mushtaq Mallik, MBT spokesperson Amjedullah Khan Khaled, former Corporator Mohammed Wajid Hussain, TPCC general secretary Zaheer Lalani, MA Mannan of CPI and other leaders present on the occasion.
