
Guntur, Nov.10 (NSS):Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan today said many people had suffered severe injuries. He toured Guntur in the wake of the deaths of the Forest department officials at the hands of smugglers. Andhra Pradesh.
Guntur Forest Martyrs’ Memorial Meeting was held today at Aranya Bhavan. Pawan Kalyan participated in the meeting. He paid tributes to the officers and staff who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Pawan greeted the family members of the martyrs by name. He also helped the family members of 23 IFS officers who lost their lives at the hands of the smugglers. These include all categories of staff and officers. He consoled all the family members of the martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan praised the role of the IFS officials in protecting the forests. He recalled that there were IFS officers who fought with people like Veerappan. He said they would do their best to completely stop this smuggling menace.
“On behalf of the State forest department, we will stand by the family members. We will install statues of some forest officials to commemorate their sacrifices. The Day of Remembrance should be done to instil a sense of courage for future generations. If the trees are being cut down… the IFS officials have a history of being stopped and their heads sacrificed. Many IFS officers have lost their lives for the protection of the wildlife.
“The Forest conservation is everyone’s duty. Today’s generation and future generations should also take responsibility. He asked for a memorial to commemorate the incident in which 23 IAFS officers were killed. He demanded that a statue of IFS officer Srinivas be installed. “I will support any reforms undertaken in the forest department. I will also talk to CM Chandrababu Naidu and sanction the required funds for this,” Pawan Kalyan said.
