New Delhi, Nov.18 (NSS): BRS working president KT Rama Rao has questioned the silence of national leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Lagacharla atrocities.
Speaking alongside the victims of Lagacharla incident at a press conference in Delhi’s Constitution Club on Monday, KT Rama Rao said,” Is Telangana invisible to national leaders? Does the plight of tribals in Lagacharla not deserve the same attention as incidents in Manipur or Dharavi?.
The BRS leader urged both the BJP and Congress leaders to break their silence and address these pressing issues.
“Rahul Gandhi claims to be a friend of the marginalised, but his actions show otherwise. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s tyranny must end, and Rahul Gandhi must hold his Chief Minister accountable,” he demanded.
KT Rama Rao asked Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi, and other national leaders to visit Lagadcharla and witness their suffering firsthand.
“Mr. Gandhi, you said you would come when children called you. Now tribal women and farmers are calling you. Will you come?” he asked.
“Rahul Gandhi often talks about protecting the welfare of farmers, tribals, and women. Yet, his own party’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, presides over atrocities in Telangana. Are the cries of tribal women and farmers in Kodangal inaudible to Rahul Gandhi?” KTR asked.
He called out Congress’s duplicity, emphasising how the same party that claims to oppose crony capitalism is now grabbing tribal lands to facilitate private projects.
“Rahul Gandhi criticises Crony Capitalism, but is silent on Revanth Reddy’s pharma land-grabbing. This is Congress’s double standard,” KT Rama Rao criticised.
In the press conference, the victims warned that if justice is delayed, they will camp in Delhi until their demands are met.
“We have nowhere else to go. Our lands are our lives, and we will fight until the end,” they vowed.
