Hyderabad, Nov.18 (NSS): OBC Morcha National president and Rajya Sabha Member Dr K Laxman has alleged that the Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has achieved nothing in its one year tenure in Telangana.
Leaders from Goshamahal Assembly constituency and and other leaders joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Dr K Laxman at the party’s state office here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP MP Laxman said that Revanth Reddy had completed one year as the Chief Minister of Telangana, but had achieved nothing.
“The BJP respected the people’s mandate. It has given the State government the required time as a national party to implement the promises and guarantees given to the people. However, the Congress government did not implement 6 guarantees and 420 promises. Out of the promised Rs 31,000 crore of farmers’ loans, the Congress government has waived off Rs.17,000 crores. About 50 per cent of the farmers in Telangana are still struggling to repay their debts. Some have been forced to commit suicide,” he claimed.
Reminding the Congress party’s promise that farmers cultivating under Rythu Bharosa scheme will get Rs. 15,000 per acre each , he said the farmers in Telangana had been cheated as the State government had not fulfilled its promise.
“The farmers have also lost confidence in the Congress government. Around 1,000 farmers committed suicide during the Congress’s one-year rule. In the past, the BRS government had cheated the unemployed in the name of jobs. Now, the Congress government is also doing the same,” he pointed out.
