Hyderabad, Nov.19 (NSS): BJP Telangana State spokesperson and media in-charge N.V. Subhash today expressed happiness over the decision to allow voluntary retirement or transfer of non-Hindu employees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
In a statement released to the media on the occasion, Subhash said, “Congratulations to B.R. Naidu and all the board members on being appointed as the chairman of the new governing council of TTD. We welcome the decision to protect Hindu dharma and protect the sanctity of Tirumala. It is heartening to note that the TTD governing council has taken this decision even though it is a little late. It is heartening to note that the decision to transfer the pagans to a different department has been taken.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the deity of the Hindus, is a holy land. The services and glory of Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala, a spiritual place that is so sacred by the Hindus, cannot be carried forward by the pagan employees working in TTD,” he said. He also said there was a ban on the propagation of paganism in and around Tirumala shrine and added that many times in the past, they had seen many incidents of other religious campaigns taking place in the premises of this shrine.
“The previous YSRCP government had brought people of other religions as employees in the TTD governing council and acted in a manner that insulted the Hindu dharma. The move has been opposed by the BJP several times in the past. We have also seen earlier that Hinduism is being used by ‘secular’ parties as a vote bank politically. We are confident that under the leadership of B R Naidu, chairman of the new Governing Council of TTD, Lord Venkateswara’s residence will now be restored to its former glory,” he said.
