Hyderabad, Dec.4 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has hailed the late former chief minister Konijeti Rosaiah as a beacon of values and a symbol of a tranquil life.
Speaking at Rosaiah’s third death anniversary event held at HICC on Wednesday, Vikramarka emphasised the resilience and dedication that marked Rosaiah’s political journey.
“Rosaiah’s life was not as smooth as it may seem. He faced numerous political upheavals and movements, emerging stronger with a distinct identity. His discipline and honesty propelled him from a student leader to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and later as the Governor of Tamil Nadu,” Vikramarka said.
Recalling his time under Rosaiah’s leadership, Vikramarka said, “I had the privilege of working under him as an MLC, MLA, and Chief Whip when he served as Finance Minister and Chief Minister. His ability to respond reasonably to opposition criticism and steer the government forward was exemplary. Rosaiah’s simple yet impactful communication style is a lesson for all politicians.”
He further highlighted Rosaiah’s approach to political discourse, stating, “He never indulged in personal attacks and instead provided well-reasoned responses, demonstrating how elected representatives should uphold public trust and work with integrity.”
The Deputy Chief Minister praised Rosaiah’s unparalleled expertise in managing the state’s finances, noting his record of presenting the highest number of budgets in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
“He had profound knowledge of agriculture and healthcare. As a disciple of Acharya N.G. Ranga, he deepened his understanding of the agricultural sector, earning recognition as a dedicated student of Ranga’s teachings. Rosaiah’s leadership extended to his tenure as PCC president and later as a party spokesperson, where he played a crucial role in reviving Congress in the state. As a spokesperson, he diligently questioned the ruling party every day from the PCC office, contributing significantly to Congress’s return to power,” Vikramarka recalled.
He lauded Rosaiah for his commitment to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and Congress party principles, which he effectively communicated to the masses, leaving an indelible mark on Indian politics.
