Hyderabad, Dec.4 (NSS): BRS party working president KT Rama Rao has made it clear that on the occasion of Deeksha Diwas every year, a wide range of literary programmes would be organized from November 29 to December 9. He said the Telangana Literature Festival would be held in the old districts, including Hyderabad. KTR said he would do literary programmes and book launches. He participated in the Telangana Literary Conference organized at Telangana Bhavan and addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, he said after the formation of Telangana State, they succeeded to some extent in terms of culture and language. “Batukamma and Bonalu festival are officially celebrated as the State festivals. We have kept the history of Telangana and the activists in the academic syllabus. Similarly, universities have been named after great leaders like PV Narasimha Rao, Prof. Jayashankar, Kaloji Narayana Rao and Konda Lakshman Bapuji. The new districts have also been named after the separate State activists,” he said.
KTR said under the leadership of former CM KCR, they organized the World Telugu Mahasabha for three days in a grand manner in Hyderabad and added that the writers and poets had been greatly appreciated by their government. “Cultural artiste Rasamayi Balakishan has been appointed as the chairman and 500 artistes have been given government jobs. If the projects are built, we have named them after the gods in the area. But no attempts have been made to name them after our party leaders. We have not tried to beat our own box. The area is permanent. Power is not eternal. Since Telangana is eternal, we have made this effort to make Telangana’s history great forever,” he said. KTR made it clear that no programmes had been conducted in the name of KCR.
