Hyderabad, Nov.17 (RAHNUMA): The Ramoji Rao group of organizations has presented an ‘Excellence Award’ to renowned blind entrepreneur Srikanth Bolla, founder of Bollant Industries Pvt. Ltd., recognizing his remarkable achievements and contribution to society.
Srikanth Bolla, who overcame visual disability to build a successful enterprise, has generated employment opportunities for many disabled individuals while producing eco-friendly products through his company.
Ponugoti Chokka Rao, Vice President of the All India Confederation of the Blind and General Secretary of the Development and Welfare Association of the Blind, Hyderabad, expressed happiness over the recognition. He urged the government to acknowledge and encourage the outstanding work being done by the disabled and blind citizens, instead of relying solely on applications and recommendations for awards.
He further appealed to the Telangana Government to immediately appoint an Independent State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, as mandated under the RPWD Act, 2016, noting that the absence of such an authority for seven years has left numerous disability-related issues unaddressed.
