COLD WAVE TIGHTENS GRIP ON TELANGANA; MET DEPT ISSUES YELLOW ALERT

Hyderabad, Nov.17 (RAHNUMA):A severe cold wave has intensified across Telangana, with bone-chilling winds and dense morning fog troubling the residents. The Meteorological department has predicted that minimum temperatures may drop 4 – 5 degrees below normal over the next two days.

Yellow warnings have been issued for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts for Monday, and for Asifabad, Adilabad, Nirmal, Sangareddy and Medak on Tuesday.

Sirpur in Asifabad district recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 7.4 degrees Celsius, while several areas reported single-digit temperatures. In Hyderabad, the season’s lowest temperature was recorded at the University of Hyderabad area at 8.8 degrees Celsius, with Rajendranagar at 10°C, Cantonment at 11.2°C, Maredpally at 11.5°C, and Qutubullapur and Gachibowli at 12°C.

The Met Department warned that the cold wave will persist for the next two days, with chilly conditions likely to continue in Hyderabad through Tuesday morning.
