Jordanian bakery in Gaza produced over 11 million loaves since January

LONDON(RAHNUMA): A Jordanian mobile bakery in the Gaza Strip has produced a total of 11,797,580 loaves of bread since January in the Palestinian coastal region.

The World Central Kitchen, which operates the bakery, said that the initiative produces nearly 70,000 loaves daily to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bread to various areas in Gaza.

The mobile bakery arrived in Gaza in December 2024 as part of a royal initiative to alleviate Palestinian suffering.

Over the past two years, Israel has restricted the entry of essential food into Gaza, including flour, and at times entirely blocked humanitarian aid.

The Jordanian mobile bakery and WCK’s initiatives were among the few that supported Palestinians. WCK is an international nongovernmental organization that provides meals and food aid to those affected by crises and conflicts worldwide.

Since October 2023, Jordanian authorities have also dispatched more than 181 aid convoys, comprising 7,932 trucks, to Gaza in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, World Food Programme and WCK.

In addition, the Jordanian Armed Forces have conducted 421 airdrops of aid since the war in the territory began, including 284 in cooperation with other countries.
